Labedan IT Solutions is a Tanzanian software company. We build the systems companies actually run on, from business systems and automation to WhatsApp platforms, AI, reporting, websites and mobile apps, and we stay on to run them after delivery. Our work sits inside insurance, logistics, construction, real estate and banking, at companies including CRDB Bank, Heritage Insurance, ATI, GSM Group and many more. Every system we make is bespoke for one company, around how that company already works, and somebody here still answers for it long after it goes live. We are a small team by design. Job information
We are seeking two Full Stack Developers to join our engineering team. The successful candidates will develop new systems and maintain existing client systems in production, taking ownership of their projects from requirements through to deployment and ongoing support. The role includes direct client engagement: implementing change requests, resolving reported issues, visiting client sites where necessary to understand requirements first-hand, and occasionally training client staff on delivered systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy features across our products, including web portals, business systems, WhatsApp platforms and supporting APIs
- Maintain and enhance live client systems, handling change requests, bug fixes and improvements end to end
- Manage assigned projects independently, with accountability for quality and delivery timelines
- Visit client sites when required to assess issues and implement appropriate solutions
- Provide training to client staff on delivered systems as needed
- Write clean, well-documented and maintainable code, following version control (Git) and code review practices
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience building and shipping production applications
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, with solid experience in Next.js and Node.js
- Good working knowledge of databases and REST APIs
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Ability to manage projects independently and communicate progress clearly
- Effective use of AI tools in development work, combined with the technical judgement to review, verify and adapt AI-generated output to our systems, standards and clients' context; unverified AI output does not go into production
- Strong willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Professional demeanour and communication skills for client-facing engagements
- A portfolio, GitHub profile or live systems that demonstrate your work
- Must be based in Tanzania
- Added Advantages: WhatsApp Business API, cloud deployment experience, and prior work on insurance, banking or logistics systems
Other information
Technology Stack: Next.js (frontend), Node.js (backend), with selected microservices in Python. Work Arrangement: Hybrid, based in Dar es Salaam. The role currently combines remote working with in-person client engagements, and the balance is expected to shift toward full-time on-site working over time. Candidates should not expect a permanently remote arrangement. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a short practical assignment. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
